(6-6-12) Julian Robertson's war on the First Amendment continues as his lawsuit heads to the US Supreme Court.
Meanwhile billionaire hedge fund loser Julian Robertson never did get his mental examination, even though he sued Al Martin, Uri Dowbenko, Conspiracy Planet, etc. in 2005, alleging defamation. So why did he sue? Because his friends teased him about "not taking his meds," according to the Wall Street Journal.
Al Martin's satirical take on Robertson's CNBC interview got the volatile billionaire expatriate so mad, he sued. Just because. Evidently you don't need any evidence to sue in federal court. Just a baseless allegation will do just fine.
It should be noted when Julian Robertson got upset with a Business Week article by Gary Weiss that had too much truth in it, he sued publisher McGraw Hill for $1 billion because it was "a nice round number."
