WASHINGTON - 07.3.01 | The June 28, 2001, transfer of former Yugoslavia President Slobodan Milosevic by Serbian authorities to the United Nations International Criminal Tribunal at the Hague, is a triumph for victims of war crimes all over the world, said Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney (D-GA), and paves the way for an open dialogue regarding former US Secretary of State Henry Kissinger.
Recently, French authorities subpoenaed Mr. Kissinger for questioning related to his knowledge and possible role in war crimes committed in South America involving the disappearance of French citizens in Chile and Argentina in the 1970s.
Mr. Kissinger has not come forward to testify.
In a letter to Secretary of State Colin Powell dated June 26, the Congresswoman wrote "The search for truth and justice should not be impeded by the stature or power of an individual in question.
