January New Moon (2006) by BARBARA HAND CLOW
It is the January New Moon (January 29)and finally the weather in the sky is changing. The influence of the grand crosses and T-squares are moving off, and new themes are coming into play.
As we begin to look into new patterns forming, remember that the Winter Solstice chart has a strong background influence until the Spring Equinox.
The grand square involving Mars opposite Jupiter and Saturn opposite Neptune was in effect during the Solstice, so the structural tension over expanding our consciousness and finding new ways to use our powers does continue, and the influence of Neptune is stronger now than Saturn. That is, spiritual access feels more important than success with mundane things.
With the New Moon in Aquarius, the energy of the grand square is the most focused within an exact Neptune square Jupiter, and then the Mars opposition is still close enough to make it into a T-square to Neptune from Mars opposite Jupiter.
Saturn is finally retrograding out of the field.
