Biometrics pioneer Applied Digital Solutions of Palm Beach, Florida plans to become the first company to sell microchips designed to be implanted into human beings.
Implantable chips have long been discussed by control-freak government bureaucrats and denounced by those who object on religious grounds or those who understand that New World Orderlies want to control all human beings through high tech feudalism.
But the company which produces the euphemistically named "Digital Angel" claims that the fear of terrorism and the drumbeat of government-media propaganda is shifting attitudes.
"The bottom line is, when people are trying to regain their peace of mind, they're more open to new approaches," said Keith Bolton, Applied Digital's chief technology officer.
Applied Digital's core business is selling implantable electronic chips that help farmers keep track of their cattle and other livestock. The company also makes a monitoring bracelet for Alzheimer patients, so families can use global positioning satellite systems to help find family members who might have wandered off.
