Everything that happens has an economic motive behind it. If you are supporting this Tea Party Nuttery and you're the one whose money founded it, you're not only supporting intransigence, but absolute nuttery, so how do you profit by it?
You profit by it by being short. In other words, why else would they be doing it?
They don't have any political ambitions or motivations. Their only interest is money. They're the Bushonian Kings.
Anyway this Tea Party is a good example of Republicanism, where those who are funding it, profit at the expense of the grassroots, at the expense of those who are supporting it, wearing their hats as voters. It's a little condensed version of Bushonomics on steroids, where the Trickle Up effect is more dynamic and more obvious because the people that strand to lose the most from what the Tea Party are doing is those who voted for the Tea Party. They would be the biggest losers.
If you try to tell them that, then the first thing they'll say is -- well, we don't understand anything about economics and you hear them say that at these press conferences where they appear with Tea Party members that they voted for -- and they're waving around American flags and saying we want to return to Christian values and if you try to say anything about economics and they’ll look the other way because they don’t understand it.
It should be remembered that the United States has always only been a One Party State. It's just about maintaining the structure – the 82/18 structure. You have to come up with names for political parties to package it up, but the real motivation behind it is maintaining that 82/18 structure.
You cannot overturn the 82/18 fraction without everything falling apart. Then when everything falls apart, who's going to get hurt the most?
