White was subsequently used by New York Times columnist Paul Krugman as the basis for his column on September 17th “Cronies in Arms.” Krugman reused the information and described White as an “evildoer”. And then came the backlash -- and the censorship. Salon.com removed the story citing "flaws." Paul Krugman too has published a partial retraction at the end of his column of Oct 4th.
